"The name Ultima Vez, under the direction of Wim Vanderkeybus, has always stood for vibrant colour, unashamed drama and a movement language which never fails to thrill." DANCE EUROPE

The artistic leader of Ultima Vez, Wim Vanderkeybus, is a director, choreographer, actor and photographer. After working with Jan Fabre he created his own working structures, Ultima Vez, a company of a dozen young artists and actors, and several artistic, technical and administrative collaborators. In 1988, Wim Vanderkeybus received a New York Bessie Award for his production, which was credited 'a brutal confrontation of dance and music: the dangerous, combative landscape. From then on, Wim Vanderkeybus continued to win big prizes on international stages either for his choreography or his film works. Ultima Vez is currently an artist-in-residence at the Royal Flemish Theatre, Brussels, an organization supported by the Flemish Community and the National Lottery, and honorably serves as the 'Cultural Ambassador of Flanders.'
